Homes for Our Troops aims to provide mortgage-free, fully adaptive, homes throughout the U.S. for severely injured post 9/11veterans. The hope is that by creating an inclusive space, our veterans will be able to rebuild their lives following their service. “ Homes for Our Troops (HFOT) is a privately funded 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization building specially adapted, mortgage-free homes nationwide for the most severely injured Veterans from Iraq and Afghanistan. Most of these Veterans have sustained injuries including multiple limb amputations, partial or full paralysis, and/or severe traumatic brain injury (TBI). These homes restore some of the freedom and independence our Veterans sacrificed while defending our country, and enable them to focus on their family, recovery, and rebuilding their lives.” (HOFT website)
Tony’s Team, Marine Corps Marathon-Team HFOT, raised a total of $84,914.Tony was able to raise $2,925 for Homes for our Troops. Congratulations to his team’s top fundraisers:

“ Since its inception in 2004, nearly 90 cents of every dollar donated to Homes for Our Troops has gone directly to our program services for Veterans. HFOT builds these homes where the Veteran chooses to live, and continues its relationship with the Veterans after home delivery to assist them with rebuilding their lives.” (HOFT website)
If you are looking for a way to say “Thanks” this holiday season, Homes for our Troops relies on individuals and businesses throughout the U.S. to donate resources and time for events. ” The average cost to construct each specially adapted home nationwide runs $430,000. A top-rated military and Veterans’ nonprofit organization, Homes for Our Troops is privately funded, and therefore relies on the generosity of donors like you. Nearly 70 percent of our operational budget is generated by individual donors and community fundraisers nationwide who step up to help our American heroes by coordinating everything from lemonade stands to golf tournaments. The remaining financial support we receive is from corporations, foundations and our corporate sponsors.” (HOFT website)
